The Free Plant for September 2018
It’s not long now before the Plant Heritage Plant Fair at Helmingham Hall on Sunday, 16th September.
The free plant (for the first 800) is Narcissus bulbocodium subspecies conspicuus – a ‘Hoop Petticoat’ species Narcissus. It reliably produces up to 15 bright golden yellow flowers per bulb with fine grass-like foliage. It’s strong growing, increases rapidly and is good for naturalising in short, rough grassland or in an open garden situation. It flowers in mid April and grows to a height of 15cm or more.
