Free Plants from the Plant Fairs

Suffolk Plant Heritage Posted on April 22, 2020 by SPH-AdminApril 22, 2020

We thought it would be good to see how the free plants that have been given away at the Plant Heritage plant fairs at Helmingham Hall look today. If we can find some more pictures, we’ll make a special page for them on the web site. If you’ve got a good photo of one of the free plants, however old, please send it to IT.Admin@SuffolkPlantHertitage.com . Here’s one to start us off:

Species Tulips

Suffolk Plant Heritage Posted on April 20, 2020 by SPH-AdminApril 20, 2020

A feature by our award-winning National Collection holder, Sarah Cooke… Wild tulips, by which I mean species tulips growing in the wild, have a wonderful mechanism to ensure that the bulbs grow at an ideal depth for the conditions in which they are found.  This seems like magic, when you realise that they usually begin as seeds germinating on the surface of the soil.  We have a good number of Tulipa sprengeri growing in the garden; mature, flowering sized bulbs are … Continue reading →

Seed has been successfully germinated, and we have some small plants to sell.

Suffolk Plant Heritage Posted on March 25, 2020 by SPH-AdminMarch 25, 2020

It is with great regret that we have to inform you that due to the current novel coronavirus / COVID-19 outbreak, our Spring Plant Fair & Artisan Market due to take place at Helmingham Hall on Sunday 24th May will no longer be able to go ahead. With our friends at Helmingham, we have worked really hard behind the scenes to organise what would have been, we believe, the best Spring Plant Fair yet and we would like to thank … Continue reading →

Meeting Cancellation

Suffolk Plant Heritage Posted on March 15, 2020 by SPH-AdminMarch 15, 2020

In view of the novel coronavirus / COVID-19 outbreak, we are cancelling the next two meetings (28th March and 25th April) at Stowupland Village Hall.  We apologise for any disappointment but feel the health of the audience and the speaker must be our priority.  We hope to be able to postpone the speakers to another year.
